Ideally situated near the Montgomery, Howard and PG County lines, across from the Suplee Dam Recreation area on Brooklyn Bridge Road, is the West Laurel Swim Club. This private, residential facility has been a popular summertime attraction for local residents for over twenty-five years. The club is a non-profit organization that is managed by a small board of directors whose aim is to provide a clean, pleasant swimming atmosphere for all of it's members.
Being the largest pool in the county, WLSC provides more than ample space for casual swimming, as well as a lap lane for the more ardent swimmer. In addition, the pool's amenities include a large diving well, sliding board, a roped area for our younger swimmers that ranges from 2 - 3 feet in depth, as well as a baby pool. We offer clean showers, rest rooms with a changing area, picnic tables, and a well-stocked snack bar. The club sponsors a competitive swim team for children up to eighteen years of age. Swim lessons are offered for a nominal fee.
Memberships
The price of a membership is $375 (refundable under provision in the By-Laws) plus a $50 one-time non-refundable Initiation Fee. These fees can be paid using our 12 month installment plan. ($75 down, 12 monthly payments of $30 each with a finance charge of only $10.)
The 2009 Annual Maintenance Fee - $375 - paid by all members is due by May 15th. Payments postmarked after May 15 are subject to a $10 late fee. On June 1st, an additional $10 deliquent fee will be assessed. There is a $10 discount if the maintenance fee is paid by April 30th. Members who join after July 4th have a prorated fee.
