The West Laurel Swim Club opened for the 2020 Summer Season on Monday, May 31st at 12 pm. Our norma operating hours are Monday to Sunday, 12:00 pm to 9:00 pm.
We would like to provide a quick update to the membership on our operating plans. In compliance with the latest Prince George’s County guidelines (effective 5/28/2021 at 5 PM), the pool will be operating at 100% capacity this summer, and protocols with respect to mask mandates and social distancing will be lifted. As such, offerings and amenities such as pavilion rentals, swim lessons, and social events will be reinstated. (Swim lesson and fitness class schedule will be announced by early next week.)
We will continue to implement enhanced cleaning protocols, such as thorough cleaning and sanitization of the bathhouse and pool deck furniture; however, we will not be cleaning pool furniture between every use or closing the bathhouse for mid-day cleanings. We are bringing back our hand sanitizing stations and will have plenty of cleaning products available for anyone who would like to wipe down chairs/tables prior to using them.
Of course, we ask that staff, members, and guests do not come to the pool if they have tested positive for Covid-19 within the last 14 days, are experiencing any symptoms of Covid-19 (fever, cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, chills, etc.), or have had close contact with anyone who has tested positive for Covid-19 in the last 14 days.
As always, the health and safety of our members remain our top priority. We will continue to monitor all CDC, state, and local guidelines closely and are prepared to make adjustments to our protocols swiftly if needed. Please take the time to familiarize yourselves with our Bylaws, Pool Rules and Regulations, and WLSC policies. As always, we expect all members, guests, and anyone taking classes at our facility to read and abide by them.
