COVID-19 Operating Procedures

The West Laurel Swim Club opened for the 2020 Summer Season on Monday, June 15th at 5pm. Our hours are Monday to Sunday, 12:00 pm to 9:00 pm.

We will be strictly following the current state of Maryland and Prince George’s County guidelines.

  • Beginning on Monday, June 29th, our maximum capacity will increase to 50% capacity with 138 in the pool. Each member will be permitted to bring up to 5 guests per day.

  • Members must maintain 6 feet of social distance while in the pool and on grounds.

  • Face coverings must be worn when in the office, bath houses and snack bar and when interacting with the staff.

  • Face coverings are recommended whenever outside the pool as possible.

  • Wading pool will remain closed.

  • Please familiarize yourself with the new “COVID-19 Operating Procedures” that was sent out via email and is on this web page.  This must be reviewed and signed prior to initial entrance to the pool for the season. NO EXCEPTIONS

Excerpt from Governor Hogan’s press conference on July 22, 2020: Marylanders should refrain from traveling to areas that are experiencing rapidly escalating numbers. Anyone who does travel out of state should immediately get tested and self-quarantine while awaiting test results.
Due to the latest guidance from the state of Maryland and Governor Hogan the following policy changes will go into effect immediately.

  • Staff: All staff who travels out of state (excluding DC and Virginia), must get tested for COVID-19 upon return to Maryland and cannot be scheduled to work until a negative COVID-19 test result is presented to Management.
  • Members: When traveling out of state, please exercise prudent judgement, based on Governor Hogan’s recommendation prior to returning to the pool. Also, due to the social distancing guidelines that we must work under this season, the pool grounds, must be cleared for all closings due to thunder or lightning.

Your board, the staff and several volunteers have worked hard to get the pool ready and it looks great! We want this to be an enjoyable season for all. That means we need the FULL support and cooperation of everyone.  We all need to follow the guidelines to keep the membership and staff safe and to remain open moving forward!

THANK YOU!!! Looking forward to a fabulous summer!
